Phoenix Equine Veterinary Services, LLC. (PEVS) is an exclusively ambulatory practice, providing Scottsdale and North Phoenix Valley areas with on-site veterinary care. We focus on providing optimal care to our patients through all stages of life from the futurity event throughout retirement. Phoenix Equine’s progressive approach to veterinary sports medicine is driven by dedication to the horse, compassion for both our patients and owners, collaboration with our colleagues, and pursuit of continued education.

Meet

Our Team

Dr. Easton

Dr. Easton was raised in Humble, Texas and received her Masters’ of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in Equine Reproduction as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Easton completed a rotating surgical and lameness internship at Pioneer Equine Referral Hospital in Oakdale, California where she stayed on as an associate until 2011. Since graduating from veterinary school, she has practiced in Texas, Missouri, Illinois, and then moved to Arizona in 2017 with her family and was driven to open Phoenix Equine Veterinary Services. Dr. Easton focuses on sports medicine, reproduction, and general health practices including advanced dentistry. In 2017 Dr. Easton also obtained her certification in veterinary chiropractic to provide ancillary preventative and therapeutic modalities for not only her performance horse clients but for the general wellbeing for all her patients. She believes that continued education is critical to providing the best therapeutic options for each individual horse. It is this progressive thought process that clients can expect from Dr. Easton on each case in formulating the optimal treatment plan for the Futurity prospect, retired National Champion, and everything in between.

Outside of veterinary medicine, traveling, playing volleyball, and being a foodie keep Dr. Easton grounded. Dr. Easton welcomes the moments with her family and enjoys watching her three children grow into equestrians and agriculturally minded young people.

Dr. Michelle Gotteiner

Dr. Michelle Gotteiner, “Dr. G”, was raised in the Chicago area and received a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, Dr. G moved to Weatherford, Texas where she completed an internship at Reata Equine Hospital and gained experience in all aspects of equine practice including a high volume of sports medicine/lameness, reproduction, neonate care, internal medicine cases, surgery, and advanced diagnostics.

Dr. G has a passion for general practice equine medicine but has particular interests in sports medicine, reproduction, emergency medicine, neonatology, and preventative care. Her future aspirations include obtaining certifications in rehabilitation, acupuncture, and chiropractic care to further enhance her ability to provide holistic treatments for her patients.

Outside of work, Dr. G enjoys spending her free time traveling, hiking, and paddle boarding with her rescue dog, Wallace.

Dr. Leslie Wu

Dr. Leslie Wu hails from Houston, TX where she graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Wu moved to Arizona where she completed a Master of Biomedical Science as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University. After graduation, she moved to California where she completed a year-long rotating internship in sports medicine, internal medicine, and emergency/ambulatory care with Steinbeck-Peninsula Equine Clinics in Salinas. She has an interest in and focuses her practice on sports medicine & rehabilitation, dentistry, emergency care, and general wellness. Dr. Wu is (soon to be) one of three veterinarians in Arizona that is a certified equine rehabilitation practitioner (CERP) through the University of Tennessee. In the future, she plans on completing her acupuncture certification to help provide further treatment options for her patients. Combining both Eastern and Western medicine, Dr. Wu aims to provide the best treatment and management options for her patients and clients. She is always learning and striving to provide the best care for your horse.

When she is not practicing medicine, you can find her out on the agility course or diving dock competing with her Australian Cattle Dog. In addition, Dr. Wu enjoys local farmers markets and keeping up with the newest restaurant openings around the Phoenix area when she isn’t looking for her next hiking and/or travel destination.
